Concrete structure covered with ash treads. Cover strips were fitted on the sides of the staircase, with both a decorative and a practical role: they give the staircase a solid look and at the same time keep the wall from getting dirty. The intermediate balusters were fitted on wooden rails to make wiping the treads easier.
